Øystein Moan

Industry Advisor

about me

Øystein has over 40 years' experience in the software and technology industry. He was CEO for Visma from 1997 until March 2020.

From 1997 to 2005, Visma was a public company and was listed on the Oslo stock exchange, until Øystein and Nic Humphries (Hg) led the €440 million MBO to take Visma private.  Visma's $12.2 billion buyout in mid-2020, led by Hg’s Saturn fund, was the largest software buyout ever globally.

During Øystein's time as CEO, Visma's enterprise value increased from under €50 million to over €11 billion - creating the largest SMB cloud software business in Europe.

Øystein is now Executive Chairman of Visma and an exclusive Industry Advisor to Hg, focused mainly on our Saturn fund.

He remains passionate about technology and its positive impact on society and enjoys skiing, cycling and football.
