Caroline Löfgren serves as Hg’s Chief Sustainability Officer, where she leads the firm’s sustainability strategy and initiatives. Operating at the intersection of Hg's Capital Solutions and Value Creation teams, Caroline orchestrates sustainability / ESG integration across the firm, client relations and investment process, while driving sustainable change throughout Hg’s portfolio. Caroline and her team partners directly with portfolio companies to mitigate risks and unlock value creation opportunities through enhanced sustainability performance. She oversees Hg's ESG reporting to Hg’s clients and key stakeholders including the UNPRI.

Caroline supports broader positive societal impact and advancement of sustainability in the PE industry through her involvement in the British Venture Capital Association's Responsible Investment Advisory Group and as a Board Trustee of the Hg Foundation.

Experience

Joining Hg in 2017, Caroline has over 16 years of experience from strategy consulting and corporate sustainability roles across retail, pharmaceuticals, and technology sectors. Caroline holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from Lund University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, plus a Post Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Value Chains from Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
